Jeff Coverdale is currently principal at Golfview Elementary Magnet School, having served in Brevard Public Schools since 2013. With almost 30 years in both private and public school education, Mr. Coverdale brings a passion for learning and academic excellence to his position. In his career as an educator he has been a teacher, a coach, a support staff member an Assistant Principal and Principal.  He taught at Stone Magnet Middle school before coming to Golfview in 2016. He became Assistant Principal at Golfview in 2017, and took over as Principal in 2023. Mr. Coverdale says although he always felt at home in the classroom, it has always been his goal to become a principal. He believes the principalship provides him the chance to work collaboratively with teachers, parents and community leaders on a daily basis, while also remaining connected to young students learning and growing in the classroom. 

Welcome to Golfview Elementary! I’m Keltie Fernandez, honored to serve as your Assistant Principal. With 22 years of experience in education—including 10 wonderful years here at Golfview—I am deeply committed to supporting our students, families, and staff in creating a thriving school community.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Special Education and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership, which have shaped my passion for inclusive learning and strong school leadership. At Golfview, we believe every child deserves a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where they can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our school goals this year focus on:

• Raising achievement in literacy, math and science

• Promoting positive behavior through PBIS

• Enhancing student engagement through hands-on learning and enrichment
